“O Come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of oursalvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto to him in psalms. Psalm 95: 1-2

The Music Ministry of First Union Baptist Church is a purposeful effort to minister God’s Word through song and to win souls for Christ and revitalize the hearts of believers.

 The mission of the Music Ministry is Spreading the Gospel through music and song. To provide training and enhance growth through workshops and other musical methods. To provide spiritual encouragement to the congregation and each other. To prepare the congregation for worship.

This ministry consists of four choirs and one Praise Team. They are: Cherubim Choir, ages 2-7; Youth Choir, ages 8-18; Mass Choir, ages 8 and above; Male Chorus, ages 16 and above. Please note that The Praise Team is not a choir. You do not have to be a member of any regular choir to participate in The Praise Team.

Persons interested in joining a choir and becoming a choir member must speak with the President of the Music Minsisty or the Minister of Music. New Choir members must attend four (4) consecutive rehearsals before singing for Sunday services.

May 2012 Happenings

The Eternal Praise Ministry is inviting everyone to its Praise Dance Extravaganza on Saturday, May 5 at 3 p.m. There will be a host of guest churches, as well as our very own, Mustard Seed, Sisters of Praise, and Seasoned Praise Dance Ministries. Please come and be blessed.

The Couples Ministry’s May fellowship will be Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m. Facilitators will be Bro. Arthur and Sis. Tandalao Franks. Please sign up if you plan to attend. Come and invite a couple

We will be celebrating Women’s Weekend May 19 and 20. The theme is “Life Interruption/Divine Intervention” taken from Proverbs 3:5 and all women are asked to wear pastel colors. On Saturday, May 19 join us for our Women’s Brunch at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Our speaker will be our very own, Sis. Tandalao Franks. On Sunday, May 20 we will celebrate Women’s Day. Our First Lady, Rev. Sylvia Wade, will be the speaker for the 8 a.m. service and guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service will be Rev. Charlene McQueen-Martin. All women are asked to give a $50 donation. Come and receive a blessing.

The first meeting and bowling session for the Summer Bowling League will be Sunday, May 20 at 6 p.m. at Bowl America on Midlothian Turnpike. The League will be bowling each Sunday at 6 p.m. for 13 weeks at the cost of approximately $13 each which includes the rental of shoes. It is not too late to join. For questions contact Bro.
